Please Read Carefully

SiteGrader is an automated analysis tool, not a human expert review. The scores, findings, and recommendations provided by SiteGrader are informational only and do not constitute a certification, guarantee, professional audit, or endorsement of any kind.

SiteGrader Is an Automated Tool

SiteGrader uses automated software to scan publicly visible attributes of websites, including HTML markup, HTTP headers, response characteristics, and other externally observable properties. Our analysis is performed by algorithms, not by human security researchers, SEO consultants, accessibility experts, or other qualified professionals.

What Scores Mean — and What They Do Not

A high score does NOT mean:

  • The website is secure or free from vulnerabilities
  • The website is compliant with any standard (WCAG, ADA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, etc.)
  • The website is fully optimized for search engines
  • The website will perform well under all conditions or for all users

A low score does NOT necessarily mean:

  • The website has serious or exploitable problems
  • The website is non-functional or poorly built
  • Immediate action is required
  • The website fails to meet any particular standard or regulation

Limitations of Automated Analysis

SiteGrader checks publicly visible attributes of websites. It cannot detect or evaluate:

  • Server-side vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, remote code execution, privilege escalation)
  • Database security, misconfigurations, or data exposure
  • Issues behind authentication, login walls, or paywalls
  • Internal application logic flaws or business logic vulnerabilities
  • Third-party integrations, APIs, or backend services
  • The complete accessibility experience for users with disabilities (automated tools can only catch a subset of accessibility issues)
  • The full context, intent, or quality of website content

Scores May Vary Between Scans

Scores may differ between consecutive scans of the same URL due to factors including, but not limited to:

  • Network conditions and latency
  • Content delivery network (CDN) behavior and caching
  • A/B testing or personalized content delivery
  • Server load and response time variability
  • Geographic routing differences
  • Website updates made between scans
  • Rate limiting or bot detection by the target website

No Affiliation with Other Tools

SiteGrader is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Google Lighthouse, WebPageTest, GTmetrix, Pingdom, WAVE, axe, or any other website analysis tool or service. SiteGrader scores are generated by our own proprietary algorithms and should not be compared to or treated as equivalent to scores from any other tool.

Consult Qualified Professionals

SiteGrader results should be used as a starting point for investigation, not as a definitive assessment. We strongly recommend that you consult qualified professionals for:

  • Security audits — engage a certified penetration testing firm or security consultant
  • Accessibility compliance — work with WCAG/ADA accessibility specialists who conduct manual testing with assistive technologies
  • SEO strategy — consult an experienced SEO professional who can evaluate your content, competition, and search landscape
  • Legal compliance — consult legal counsel for GDPR, CCPA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Performance optimization — work with web performance engineers who can conduct load testing and deep analysis
